Job Description

Main Purpose of Job:

 

To manage and oversee the approved planning and cost control standards, guidelines, and procedures for preparing budgets, cost forecasts and work plans/schedules for all projects.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • To develop and implement planning and cost control policies and procedures.
  • To monitor and review all aspects related to planning and cost control functions on projects to ensure that the quality of the cost engineering and project planning/scheduling is in accordance with the established company procedures and expectations.
  • To direct all planning and cost control engineers in the preparation and presentation of cost and schedule forecasts and status reports as required.
  • To review all planning and cost control reports to ensure compliance with company procedure and expectations. 
  • To manage and maintain risk analysis for all projects.
  • To perform site visits to visualize the progress and ensure its compliance with provided reports.
  • To conduct regular meetings with site planning and cost engineers to review work progress and discuss points of concern.  
  • To maintain communications with concerned departments such as Contracts, Finance etc…, to ensure smooth operations within PCD department.  
  • To ensure all reports and documents related to planning and cost control are maintained in file management system for easy future retrieval.
  • To prepare regular progress reports for top management and address any concern or issue regarding planning and cost control functions within the projects.
  • To support the project management to complete projects on time and within approved budget.
  • To support the project managers decision-making process through providing all information necessary for a rapid identification of any unfavorable trend or any potential problem in time to start immediate corrective actions.
  • To support the Project Manager and the Contract department during the contract changes/claims process providing the impact evaluation on costs and schedules.
  • To evaluate subordinates performance and determine areas of improvements accordingly.
Required Experience :

Technical & Personal Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge in all aspects of cost engineering, planning and scheduling, budgeting and cost related services.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering Standards and codes of practice
  • Extensive knowledge of Country Law and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Contracts and commercial principles.
  • Solid computer skills

Education :
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in project controls for contracting industry operations
